Trump: NATO has not helped us!

Tensions between the United States and NATO have flared up again ahead of the Ankara summit. Trump criticized allies, speaking of the one-sided nature of the relationships.

Days before the NATO summit in Ankara, the President of the United States once again questioned his country's support for this military alliance. In a post he published on his online platform, Trump criticized the one-sided relationships with allies, calling it "ridiculous."

Emphasis on Lack of Support from Allies

His criticisms seem to stem from NATO's insufficient support in the war with Iran. He stated: "They were not there for us!" and added that the relationships between Washington and other NATO countries are based on "inequality." These tensions have been present in the relations between the United States and European countries for some time, and Trump has repeatedly urged them to take more responsibility for their own defense.

He also criticized countries like Italy and Germany, noting that these countries did not help the United States enough in the Iran war and has repeatedly threatened that he would not defend them in times of need. These criticisms from Trump have emerged ahead of the important NATO summit on July 7 and 8; a summit that experts believe aims to keep the President of the United States in a state of satisfaction and prevent doubts about his support for NATO.
