On the occasion of July 4th and the National Day of the United States, Beyoncé surprised her fans with the release of the song "Morning Dew (Donk)". This song, which is her first new work in two years, was released on Saturday (July 4th) and not only serves as a sudden gift for fans but also marks the beginning of a 60-day countdown to her 44th birthday on September 4th.
A New Experience with Collaborations from Renowned Artists
The song "Morning Dew (Donk)" is included in the 20th-anniversary edition of the album "B'Day" which was released in 2006. This song was written in collaboration with Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, Dream, and Darius Dixon, and produced by the same two artists. Alongside the song, a lyric video has been released that references images from old films, directed by Cliff Watts, one of Beyoncé's longtime collaborators.
This release is, in fact, a sign of hope for fans who are in between two major musical seasons of Beyoncé. Her last studio album titled "Cowboy Carter" was released on March 29, 2024, and is recognized as the second part of a planned trilogy that began with "Renaissance" in 2022. Fans will still have to wait for the third and final part of this story, as there are rumors of its imminent release, which according to some sources, was completed in May.
