The war in Ukraine has become one of the largest contemporary crises, and its impact is not only on people's lives but has also severely affected the world of art. At the Serpen Gallery, an exhibition titled "Through Your Own Eyes" has been held, featuring 28 works from 14 Ukrainian artists. These works tell the untold and deep stories of artists who have created their pieces in two different times, namely before and after the onset of the war.
The Experience of Artists in Difficult Conditions
Many of these artists continue their activities despite the challenges and difficulties posed by the war. While some of them have completely withdrawn from the art world and are seeking new ways to express themselves. This exhibition gives viewers the opportunity to closely observe the profound changes in the creative process and artistic expression of these artists.
The works displayed in this gallery not only address the aesthetics of Ukrainian art but also delve into the depth of human emotions and experiences during wartime. Each piece narrates a story of hope, despair, and the struggle for survival, serving as a mirror of the current state of the country.
