In a passionate gathering held at Johanneskirche, about 170 members of the "Bright Lights" coalition have been protesting against the construction of the third runway at Munich Airport for 20 years. This gathering took place on Sunday to draw attention to the dangers that the airport expansion poses to the environment.
Warnings About Nature Destruction
During the event, former bishop Bernhard Haßlberger spoke about the negative consequences of this project on nature and the local ecosystem. He specifically emphasized the greed of corporations and its destructive impacts on the environment, calling for a reconsideration of this project.
This gathering not only reflects public concerns about the environment but also serves to amplify the voices of the protesters to the authorities. It seems that despite the protests and warnings, the determination of large companies to expand their activities continues unabated.
