Storm Babi, known as an extremely dangerous superstorm, is moving quickly towards Rota Island in the Pacific Ocean. According to the United States National Weather Service, this storm, with wind speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour, will soon reach this island and other surrounding areas. Residents of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, who have previously been affected by storms, are currently facing strong winds and heavy rains.

Preparedness for Residents

Residents of Rota Island, with a population of about 1,500, are rapidly preparing to face this storm. Predictions indicate that Storm Babi will bring devastating damage to surrounding areas, and especially near the center of the storm, we will witness severe damage. Residents are currently seeking refuge in evacuation centers or securing their homes and businesses.

According to experts, heavy rainfall and storms caused by Babi will lead to significant flooding and create dangerous conditions at sea, which could result in waves reaching about 10 meters in height. Given the occurrence of previous storms like Storm Sinlaku, which caused power outages for tens of thousands last April, this storm could also have similar consequences.
