In a historic day for the sport of golf, Ryan Fox, the 39-year-old New Zealand golfer, achieved a significant victory in the 154th edition of the British Open held at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport. This championship not only marks his first Major title but also ensures his name will be recorded in the history of golf.

At the end of four days of competition, Fox finished with a total of 270 strokes, overcoming tough competitors such as Cameron Young (271 strokes) and Sam Burns (272 strokes) to claim the $3.2 million prize and the iconic Claret Jug trophy. Meanwhile, local golfer Tommy Fleetwood, seen as a major hope, could not achieve the championship title and finished tied for fourth with 273 strokes alongside former champion and world number one Scottie Scheffler.
In this competition, Northern Irish golf star Rory McIlroy placed 40th with 279 strokes, and two German golfers, Tim Widemeyer and Tiger Christensen, were eliminated in the first two days of the competition.
