Renting in Germany has become a serious crisis. Over the past decade, rents in the major cities of this country have increased by an average of 51%. This unprecedented rise is particularly evident in Berlin, where rents have jumped from €8.93 per square meter at the beginning of 2016 to €15.80 at the beginning of 2026. This amounts to a 76.9% increase!
