Following the launch of the new digital border system of the European Union, airports across the continent are facing serious issues, with reports indicating delays of several hours in passenger processing. This situation has become a major problem not only for travelers but also for the airports themselves.
Airports Warn EU Officials
According to published information, the Airports Council International (ACI) has strongly warned about these delays and called on officials to take immediate action. Airports have directly written to Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, requesting her to address this crisis.
Delays in the entry and exit of passengers can have serious consequences for the tourism and air transport industry, and there are concerns that a recurrence of this situation could diminish public confidence in air travel. On the other hand, this issue may lead to increased criticism of how the European Union's border policies are managed and implemented.
