In a controversial turn of events, the two famous children of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Zahara and Maddox, are attempting to officially abandon the last name 'Pitt' and revert to 'Jolie'. This action, recently reported in the newspapers, represents a significant step in the identity change process for these two young individuals.
Why the Name Change?
Zahara (21 years old) and Maddox (24 years old) have decided to change their names after years of family and media struggles. These siblings, who were legally recognized by their father's name, have now fulfilled one of the legal requirements in the state of California by publishing their name change request in the newspapers. This request may soon be approved in court sessions in September.
This name change comes after Shiloh, their other sister, also officially abandoned her father's name in 2024. Shiloh, who was born in Namibia and is the biological eldest child of the couple, had previously changed her last name through similar legal formalities.
Family Background
Several years ago, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were recognized as one of Hollywood's power couples. They married in 2014, but in 2016, news of their separation came as a huge shock. Jolie at that time made allegations including Pitt's misconduct towards her and their children. Although police investigations did not yield results, this separation led to serious crises for the family, and it took years to reach agreements regarding custody and financial matters.
